There’s a paid charge off on my CRs from Wells Fargo. It was truly from 2009 but for some reason it is reporting as 2012. It has been listed under the “accounts in good standing” portion of my reports for a long time so I thought it counted the same as a paid/closed account.
Applied for a Discover it card and was denied. When I called to recon, that was the first thing she mentioned – as it being negative – and she told me about the date.
Question 1: why is it showing under “accounts in good standing” if it is adversely affecting my report and score?
Question 2: How can I get the date changed to be accurate and not look so new?
Question 3: Can I get this removed completely from my reports? GW letter or dispute?

I'm not sure about #1 or #2. As for #3, given its paid status, I'd attempt GW removal. Unless you feel the reporting is inaccurate, I wouldn't recommend dispute. Is there a date listed that the TL is scheduled to fall off?
