I have a medical collection that was sent to West Asset Management that has already been paid. It is currently reporting to EX and TU.
EX has it marked as paid and closed but TU has it marked as paid and open. EQ is not reporting this collection at all.
If I call WAM to ask them to update my record can I specify they only notify TU? Or will they automatically send to all 3? If they send to all 3 will it start showing on my EQ?
File a dispute through TU. That way it'll ensure that it doesn't get reported to EQ or EX (which ever one you don't want it to report to)
I would handle it informally without a dispute.
Any collection that is paid is closed to further collection. Lack of update with one CRA is merely an admin oversight, and I would not mess up my scoring by filing a formal dispute. A simple reminder call to the debt collector should be adequate for them to shoot off an admin update of the obvious.
