Paid Med Colln--How to Remove

Hello,

I just paid a couple of medical bills that had gone to collection status on my credit report.  I paid the original creditor (Doctor office) directly.  I have read that there is a process to get the Collection Agency to remove the item(s) from my report.  Can anyone point me in the right direction for this process?

OK, just want to get opinions now based on some digging.  I've never received anything in writing from the collection agency.  I only found out about the collection accounts after reviewing my credit report.  Now that I've paid the debt to the original creditor should I initiate contact with the collection agency and ask them to Verify the debt?  Will they then delete it?  Or, show it as paid?
