Paid OC but CA is still reporting.

Here is the deal.  Back in 2010 I had a payment agreement with Alliant Energy.  I paid all of the installments ontime with the exception of one.  I simply did not have the money and I paid them late on the final payment.  When I had the money I paid Alliant online on their website.  They accepted the payment and I printed the receipt.

Since I paid the OC and they accepted my payment online, shouldn't the CA have to stop reporting?  Anyway to fix them.  Alliant tells me to talk to the CA and that they can't do anything about it.

Here is what they have been reporting:

Thanks for the help.

Re: Paid OC but CA is still reporting.

They have reported the collection as paid, $0 balance, which is correct.

They are entitled to "update" prior reporting, including just a reiteration of the correct status.  It is not usual to report on a collection that is closed and includes no changes in information, as it is kinda a waste of time, but it is not improper.

Re: Paid OC but CA is still reporting.

So how much do you think this is this affecting my score?  It is showing as a collection.

Is a GW letter my only option here?

Thanks for the help.

yeah.. I think GW is the way to go... some websites advise disputing, but aside from it being inaccurate, I wouldn't dispute because you are trying for some good will from the CA... disputing it could cause that good will to go away, because they had to waste time updating an already paid account.. at least in my opinion a GW should be your first option..
