DELETED! Transunion (the only company they were reporting to) shot up 75 points. The TU "vantage score" shot up even more.
The account didn't belong to me. But the identity theft process was a total nightmare. And I'm in the process of buyinig. So I figured a couple hundred dollars to make the problem go away was my best option.
I took advice from those on the forum and contacted T-Mobile.
At first they were hesitant. The customer service rep didn't even want to acknowledge the fact that I could pay with them.
I begged her.
She allowed me to pay my bill with them over the phone.
I immediately called Transunion and disputed the collections account.
2 days later. Gone.
Hope this helps.

Thanks! I wish I could have just waited out the 16 months it was going to take for it to fall off. But 16 months with a black eye on my TransUnion account was too much.
