With EQ it's showing as an open/revolving account. With TU, it's reported correctly as a collection that was paid and the date paid shows 12/2008. Not sure why EQ is reporting incorrectly. I did see from some other posts regarding Palisades that they report as open/revolving accounts and really screw people up by doing that.
The reason of the score drop was because of it being reported in the accounts section.
Be more concerned with getting it over the collection section than getting the late removed.
Yeah, i thought it was odd that it was reporting as an open/revolving account. Do you honestly think EQ will do the right thing and fix the way it's reporting?
dentrapment, What is the DOFD on the bill that they sent to you? Is the bill from the OC or did the CA print it?
Federal SOL means that they must file suit within 2 years from DOFD. It has nothing to do with CRTP or state SOL (open accounts)
Status:
Collection account. $501 past due as of Mar 2009.
Date Opened:
10/2005 Date of Status:
12/2008 Reported Since:
12/2008 Last Reported Date:
03/2009
What is the open date? An open date by any CA only means the date that they were assignesd or bought the debt! This date could be years after DOFD!!!
What is your SOL?
This is showing a report date in 2005 and again in 2008.
I looked at my equifax report today and found that the date of last activity on this account was Aug, 2003.

My apologies, we kinda jacked your thread.
Is the DOLA being reported by the CA or OC?
What is the DOFD?

I also have a collection account with Pinnacle collecting for Verizon Wireless with DOL Nov, 2005, how do you guys suggest I proceed?
Have you been contacted by them? Contacted them?
If beyond SOL or you can PIF, start by DV'ing.
Then offer a PFD if they properly validate and you agree with everything.
What is the DOFD?

DOLA is being reported by CA, I don't have the DOFD. Thanks.

They have not contacted me but I sent a PFD offer to them a few days ago without DV first (stupid, I know now...lol). I'll keep you guys update on the outcome. Thanks all.
