What will boost my score more? Paying off two small cc's balances 500/1000 and 400/700 or paying down $1000 on my large cc with a balance of 3200/4000? Or just spread it out?
Well, it all depends on the makeup of your credit file:
In my situation, I had a bigger score boost by paying the two smaller ones off competely. Two 0 balance cards and one higher balance will give you better FICO pointage than paying the two small ones down half ect ect..
HOWWWWWEVER -- your 3200/4000 card might be hurting more because of HOW close it is to maxed out. If you could swing 1500 and pay the two off, and put 600 on the 4000 card youd be in much better shape in my estimation.
This is my opinion for FICO scoring, however, if the 3200 card has the worst interest, financially you shoud pay that off and not worry about the FICO.
YMMV, and it seriously does vary with scoring.
