How do you verify if someone will pay for delete? i had something go in collections, and they offered me a settlement.

looking to pay off for deletion.

if i send them the settlement amount, is there any chance that they accept it as payment on the regular amount?

A pay for deletion is a contract offer that you first make, and wait for a response.

You can offer both a settlement for less and the condition that they also agree to delete, but chances are better if you offer to pay the full amount.

If you offer a settlement, make sure it is clear that acceptance discharges the entire debt.

It will then legally discharge the debt the same as if paid in full.
