Payday Loan collection possible scam old news but maybe new info

Background CH7 discharged 6/16

PDL with Western Sky in 2010 illegal in NJ  ** also I don't think this was 2010 probably well before that as I was already seperated by then.

Included in CH7 Bankruptcy

Every 6 months or so I start getting calls again:

"I received a fax order regarding a complaint that was filed against you I have been retained to serve you with documents to appear at either your residence or your place of employment if you have any questions or concerns about this complaint or wish to rectify the matter you can hit any key on your phone to connect to our office directly or call us at the following number. 509-620-9010 When calling please reference file number? 3699 Three Seven you have officially been notified."

Not only do they call me but they reach out to family and threaten to contact my employer HR Department.  Very annoying.  In fact last year my brother called me in a panic they called his ex wife looking for where they could serve me.  Total BS in that they are not serving anyone.

So I called back and one of my phone numbers they said was from a 2013 item I stopped them said discharged 6/16 they hung up.

Got more messages on other line called back let them know it was on a recorded line first guy hung up on me.

2nd woman said Cashcall 2010.  Wait a tic SOL on debt in NJ is 6 years and again included in CH7 so uncollectable because of age and CH7 and illegal to pursue collection activity because of CH7.

Now if you google the phone numbers.  in my case 316-227-1858, 506-620-9010 it has you absolutely convinced it's a total scam and call filtering tools like Hiya say the same but maybe there is an iota of legitimacy here.

They new my SS,they looked up my lawyer info....

My take is they are a junk debt buyer who is going to pursue everything with scary tactics.  Other voicemail said about to contact my employers HR department... (I know better than to worry but believe they might contact them)  So they scare people and if a very small percentage pay they win.  The may not be legally able to sue such as in my case because 1) illegal in NJ 2) SOL passed 3) included in CH7 but they can try and scare $ from people.

What are others experience with them?

Let me guess - the person calling you has a nice Anglo-sounding name like Inspector Smith but he sounds like he is calling from Mumbai or New Delhi. In the background you can hear other people with the same accents making the same threats to other people.

My bet is on scam.
