I have a medical bill from 3 years ago that at the end of 2011 went to collections. Didn't even realize it wasn't paid until I checked credit in May of 12. Am I better off trying to pay the company direct or to pay the collection agency? I asked the lady at the company if they would notify the collections to remove from my credit if I paid. She said just to con'tact them direct.
