Paying a collection debt.

I have a bill on my report. I spoke with them, she said she cant offer me a settlement nor remove, it has to be paid in full & then it will be updated with the credit bureaus as "paid".
Do u think its worth paying? If its not going to be removed.

Re: Paying a collection debt.

Play hardball with them.  What she said is just an intimidation.  Companies generally will workout payments because of bankruptcies and them not getting paid at all.  Talk to someone else in a higher rank and suggest payoff for removal and make sure to get letter in writing first which will be used if they try not removing.  Never talk to only one person, could be someone that is only reading from script.
