Owed a ca for hoa back from 2010. I called the assn and they said to send in the pmt to them
What steps to take for ca removal?

Ask the HOA to recall the account from the collection agency.  This can work of they have not sold the debt to the CA..

If the debt collector has reported, what benefit are you seeking by paying the OC rather than the debt collector?

If you make a PFD offer directly to the debt collector, and they accept, then you have a contract agreement for CR deleton.

If you pay the OC, they can cnly request the debt collector to delete their reporting, they cannot agree to or require deletion.of reporting they did not make.

Are you seeking deletion of reporting made by the OC rather than the collection reported by the debt collector?

The HOA is for property at our get-away.  The HOA assn. consists of 3 people.  The mgr. said once we pay the HOA, they will notify the CA and everything gets removed.

I am going to call the Ca and see what they have to say.

Ask HOA if they sold the debt to the CA or assigned the account to the CA.? If thye sold it they cannot do anything about the it.
