Paying on student loan for 6 months...

I've made on time payments for 6 months now to my student loans. I have not seen one point increase in my credit scores, what gives?

I did recently get a secured card from boa, paid the first bill in full, I hope this will cause some increase soon. I know I need to be patient but I've seen post where people scores have increased considerably in on 3-4 months.

any advice??

Re: Paying on student loan for 6 months...

Installment loans play a very small part of your FICO score.  And ontime payments are expected, it is when you default that it hurts your score.

As for the CC, let it report a small balance each month, 9% or below, if it is your only one.  FICO likes to see you use your credit but wisely.
