Payment After Charge off/Collection

CA is now reporting payment after charge off / collection...I have never paid the CA nor do I see another account replacing it...is this good or bad or will something come back to haunt me?

The OC notified the CA of your payment, which is what they are supposed to do.

A paid collection is just as bad as an unpaid one,  Nothing should come back to haunt you if it is paid.  I would start sending out GW letters asking them to remove it.

Do you know what it is for?

I don't remember what it is for...I disputed it last month, and now they are reporting it paid, but I don't know what it's for and I never paid them anything

Send them a DV letter.  Even though it says paid, they still have to be able to validate.  And ask specifically for the name and address of the OC.

Did they simply report a $0 balance under collection, and you are interpreting that to mean paid, or did they actually report payment of the debt?

Reporting $0 balance could mean either that the debt was paid to them, or that their collection authority has been terminated, or that they have sold the debt to another.....
