Payment history question

Does whether or not an account is open or closed effect your score?

I'm refinancing so my mortgage, which has some late payments, will now be a closed and pays as agreed account, but the old payment history will still show up. Will the fact that it's a closed account instead of an active one change my score at all?

I just did a msg w/ the same question.  Hopefully someone will come along.  I'm in need of help, too.

Payment history will still show and effect your credit score even though the account is closed. You might try to contact the company and see if the would remove lates or do a goodwill letter (GW).
