About 3 years ago lost my job etc... anyways I didn't pay the cancellation fee for the phone. This august they are just now sending it to collections and it's very irritating as I've been in the process of rebuilding and completely forgot about this silly cancellation fee, and now have another collections on my account. I know I'm not supposed to bring up PFD to creditors as it can cause them sometimes to be more pro-active, but I want to say I read somewhere in Texas that on a contract type of credit, such as phone bills etc... they stay on your credit a shorter amount of time? If that makes any sense... I want to get this taken care of but do not want to provoke them at all, so since it's been 3-4 years now, with it being a contract and the creditor just now receiving it, should I see if they would do a PFD or should I wait?
Send the PFD. Actually the CRTP for Texas is the same as other places. It's 7 years. I believe you might be confusing that with the SOL.
