Pinnacle credit - How to best deal with them, they are unresponsive

So I  have a ding from Pinnacle on my credit report that I need to resolve ASAP  - I called them yesterday, and they told me my account is now handled by another agency, then transferred me to a non-working number.  I googled the other agency - they stated they would work out payment with me, but couldn't touch what was on my credit report.  I called back to Pinnaclle and got the same woman who was beyond rude, told me they couldn't discuss my account with me, couldn't do anything, I had to talk to the third party - she even refused to transfer me to a supervisor or a manager.  I am in negotiations on a house and need to remove this ding ASAP = What is my best option - do I reach a settlement with the third party and then dispute it?  Do I continue to fight Pinnacle?  Thoughts, suggestions?

Good question and I'm usually between CC, GEN,Scoring and Business

I am having the same issue with pinnacle and the other agency is Stephen and michaels associates...I asked them to validate the debt and they said ok but it could take a couple of months! What?! Not sure where to go from here :-(

They also said no to a pfd but they could offer a settlement and have pinnacle update it as paid which I do not want!
