Portfolio Recovery

I have received an alert every day from September 5 that a "new collection has been added".  This account has been on my report. Why are they updating like this?

Re: Portfolio Recovery

Who are the alerts coming from and pls don't say a FAKO moitoring service Lol

Most likely your past SOL and they're using this tactic to hold scores down IMHO

I'd be willing to bet they're also SP'ing you regularly

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?

Re: Portfolio Recovery

The updates are with myFico.  I'm trying to pay this one off but it's the one of two unpaid collections on my reports.  Trying to hold out for a pfd.

Re: Portfolio Recovery

wow, they are really nasty.  Updating on purpose just to keep chipping away at your score and you till you cave in.....

I hope their system crashes and they lose all their data Smiley Mad

Re: Portfolio Recovery

PRA is very resistant to pfds. I'm assuming they have validated debt.

Re: Portfolio Recovery

If they are reporting daily I would submit a complaint with CFPB and BBB

Re: Portfolio Recovery

I sent debt validation to them.  They sent back a generic letter but did not have the correct information.  I am in Texas so I sent it citing the texas laws.  It is past the SOL.
