I got a letter dated 6/5 that Portfolio would delete a Paid Charge Off within 60 days. So far, they have not. What do I do if they do not remove it within the 60 days?
And it is being reported twice on my CR: once as HSBC and once as Portfolio. If Portfolio deletes their part, will it automatically delete the HSBC?
Portfolio is the Collection Agency (CA) that purchased the account from HSBC (I am assuming the TL with HSBC says something like transferred/Sold Charged off account. Portfolio deleting their TL will have nothing to do with the original charged off TL. To have that deleted, you will have to try to goodwill HSBC. They may or may not obllige your request.

Portfolio should have it listed as a collection account and not a charge-off account. If their TL is not deleted by 8/5 I would call the CRA's and get the fax numbers to submit the letter to them. They will more than likely submit another dispute which you would need to wait another 30 days.
Ok, do I have a leg to stand on with the differences below?

Looks like Portfolio just updated the TL to reflect that it is settled... I would do as Da Bears recommends and fax the letter of deletion to CRA if not deleted by the 60 deadline. As far as the HSBC TL, You could try to goodwill them to see if they will delete early, but if not, if will fall off by July 2014
Thanks for the great advice!
i would submit a complaint with the consumer financial protection bureau, just went thru the same situation and as soon as the cfpb submitted the complaint on my behalf (they have a 15day time window with the cfpb) it was deleted within 3 days...
Thanks!!
Just call Portfolio and ask to speak to someone in the office of general counsel, that's where all the PFD letters are forwarded to.
