Possible Blessing in Disguise Account # is Wrong

I received a collection for an old account. When I called the OC they showed nothing under the account number that the CA is reporting. It turns out that they have the numbers from the original account in the wrong order. I did pay the OC because they are not reporting to the CRA and they are pulling the collection back from the CA. Since the account number is wrong, does this give hopes that the debt can't be verified? I am hoping to get the CA deleted but the CA is being most difficult.

Your best bet is to have the OC pull back from CA barring that though you could dispute .

Okay thanks so much. The OC said they were pulling it back from the CA and they are sending me a fianl bill showing 0. If that doesn't do that trick, I will dispute. thanks!

Your welcome I know its hard but sit tight sometimes it can take at least 30 days be patient it will happen

Tell me about it. I get so impatient. The more my FICO goes up and the closer I get to my goal, the faster I want it to happen. It is a slow and steady process, much like a diet!
