I just wanted to share my experience, while in the credit rebuilding process.
I had received a pre approval catalog from Fingerhut in late April; I hadn’t applied for any new credit since 12/09 (I hadn’t applied for credit in a year before that), so I gave it a shot. I was approved for a 500.00 limit. They checked my Equifax score, which at the time was 572.
I emailed customer service this past Monday and inquired when they review accounts for increases, they advised me that they reviewed accounts every couple of months, but that my account was too new for an increase. (Which I already knew and didn’t expect). So I checked my account online today and I got a 300 CLI. So now my limit is 800. This should be helping my UTL, since I only have a 135 balance.
This may not be the best account to get, but for someone who has trouble getting approved, it may help. They only report to TU and EQ.
