Professional Credit Services PFD

 Hello!

I have an unpaid medical collection for $133 (original amount $96) from 7/2/10 with Professional Credit Service. It's on my EX and TU credit reports. I emailed Professional Credit Service with a PFD offer in the amount of $96, here is their emailed response (on their letter head):

PCS # XXXXXXX, Peace Health Laboratories

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for your email dated 7/31/2015 regarding an offer to settle your account with Professional

Credit Service in full. After reviewing your letter and our files, we have decided to reject your

settlement offer of $96.00. Instead, we would like to offer you the opportunity to pay this account in full

for $144.91 and will agree to delete from credit.

If you are unable to accept our settlement offer, we would be happy to discuss the other payment options

available to you. You may reach our office at 866-320-6521 to speak with a credit representative.

Sincerely,

Redacted

This is a communication from a debt collector.

Questions:

  1. Does this response have the correct wording for a PFD
  2. How much is this actually hurting my credit score?
  3. Should I accept this offer? I'm in Oregon so debt is still within SOL.

Any help is appriciated!

Re: Professional Credit Services PFD

Thank you for your reply!

I'm a little worried about this working in the letter, "Instead, we would like to offer you the opportunity to pay this account in full

for $144.91 and will agree to delete from credit"

Is this the same as saying they will delete from all credit bureaus?

I'm paranoid the CA is trying to trick me! Ha.

Thanks again.

Re: Professional Credit Services PFD

Thank you all for your help, it is very much appreciated!

I will be sending a money order to the CA tomorrow via CMRRR and I will update this post once the collection is removed.

Re: Professional Credit Services PFD

Beware of Prof credit services!

I would request in writing on letter head a signed statement with a hand signature that they will indeed "delete" it from your credit report. Otherwise you will be in my situation, fighting them to do what they promised.

Also, they do not negotiate. They will accept nothing less than full payment including interest. I tried on several ocasions. I had a medical emergency a few years back and ended up with three collections with them. Managed to get 2 removed and now I'm fighting to get the third one deleted as they promised.

Re: Professional Credit Services PFD

They emailed an attached letter on company letter head with the wording above. No signature though.

Can't I file a complaint if they don't do as promised?
