Hello all, I am trying to improve my credit score and any advice would be greatly appreciated. I signed up for Bank of America's Privacy Assist service that provides me with my credit information and according to it my scores are as follows: Equifax: 616Experian: 612TransUnion: 616
I have a few questions: 1) Are these my true scores? Can I count on these scores being accurate?
2) How can I improve my credit if I have no open accounts? I currently owe $508 on a card that had a $650 limit. I am planning on paying this off within the next two months. Would this have an impact on my credit?
3) Am I able to remove credit inquiries from my credit report?
4) If my accounts have been closed, is there any way to get the reports that I made late payments off of my credit report?
I am hoping to qualify for a loan by the end of this year. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you very much!
Welcome to the forum. Those scores are FAKO scores which are not useful so I would buy my TU and EQ scores here to see where you really stand.
INQs stop counting after 1 year and usually cannot be removed.
The only forum legal way to have lates removed is to use the GW process which info can be found in this section of the forum. You would need to post the names of the companies here so others can help you with their experience in dealing with them.
Post up your credit picture, so we can better guide you.
Hello Repo-ed,
Is this new information in the post what you mean? Thank you for replying to my post. Any help is appreciated.
Thank you for your time!
Marty56,
Thank you for your advice. I went ahead and purchased the scores through myfico.com. Is there any way to obtain the Experian score? I had enrolled in Bank of America's Privacy Assist program and the scores were fairly accurate, with only a few points difference each way. Do you think this would be the case with my Experian score as well?
Again, thank you very much for your time. I appreciate it.
You cannot buy your EX FICO score and the rest of the scores you find that don't say FICO in them are called FAKO scores and not really useful. The fact a FAKO score is close to your real FICO score is unlucky and worse yet FAKO scores can move in the oposite direction of a FICO score and a change in a FAKO score does not imply a change in your FICO score.
If all 3 of your CRs have the same info and based on what you posted, then IMHO you EX score should be near the other 2.
Thank you for pointing out the difference, Marty. The CSR at Privacy Assist was really pushing for me to keep their service but if that's the case then I think it would be better to continue with myfico instead. Based on what my report looks like, do you have any suggestions as to what I can do in order to move my scores towards the right direction? Any advice is appreciated. Thank you!
Just bumping this post... I'd really appreciate any input as to what i can do in order to fix my score. Thank you.
