Public Record/Judgement Question

Hi All, looking at my myfico report I have 1 public record which I am assuming is a judgement....it says as status "Pay account as agreed" 

NJsdss

Date Opened Jan 2003

Dateof last activity Sept 2007

Account Type Open Account

Scheduled payment amount $556

Description

Child/family support

Closed or paid account/zero balance

: keep in mind I know what this is, it is from a lawyer not from missing child support

I have to believe this is blocking me from just about everything regarding my credit.  Do I pay this? will it ever fall off?

Confused....

Is it simply the reporting by a party (e.g., an attorney) for delnquency in legal fees owed to them?

If so, that would be the standard furnishing of information by a creditor, not a public record.

"Closed or paid account/zero balance" could mean that the creditor has sold or cancelled the debt.

If shown in a public record, it could have been entered into your file without any furnishing by the creditor.

The CRAs pick up public record information via their own private searchers.

In what public record has it been reported?

Thanks Robert, is it possible I am confusing them? I am looking only at the myfico report and on the report it says I have 2 accounts with negative indicators.  1 says collections and 1 says puiblic record.  When I look at the specifics none of them say public record.

Pinnacle - $1,468.00 120+ past due

Verizon - $108.00 120+ past due

Credit one bank - $0.00 bad debt/collectionDate of last activity 11/08

American Honda Financial - $0.00 Bad debt collection, dat eof last activity 5/2007

njsdss - $0.00 pays account as is date of last activity 9/2007

But something needs to really be holding me down because I cannot seem to get even a Credit Card...should I be getting other credit reports or something.  All of these accounts do not give me contact information either
