Question: Trying To Quickly Payoff Collection ($36) But Can't Reach

I am close to qualifying for a mortgage and I have a $36 balance to WFNNB/New York & Company that would

like to payoff and then rapid rescore.

Problem is cannot reach them.  Date of last report was 5/10 and DOLA 05/07. 

Any Suggestions on how to handle quickly.  Only have to bump score a few points.

Well, just paying the collection wont do anything.  A paid collection and a unpaid collection are the same thing in the score's eyes.  A paid collection just looks better on manual reviews.

You need to PFD the CA and do that in writing.  That'll get the entire tradeline erased from your report (which is what you want).  Once they accept the PFD, then pay them.

Is this the OC or a CA?

The information on your CR about the reporting party is supposed to be accurate also.    Have you tried to google the company?

What the other poster stated is true.  Paid or unpaid, it is scored the same.  Not that it matters right now if you can't get in touch with them.
