Hi everyone this is my first post and I just want to start by saying im so glad I found this site I am in the process of rebuilding and while doing so I checked my experian report and found an old debt from continental finance I had years ago. The debt is for $592 dollars and I would be happy to pay it off. Currently it is in the hands of CKS Financial I would like to try a GW letter but I don't have an email address. Any advice or info would be greatly appreciated
Thank You
I would encourage you to be careful with this one. How old is "years ago"? If it is due to fall off your report soon, you may be taking a risk by kicking the hornet's nest. Hopefully some of our more seasoned experts will chime in, but unless I'm mistaken, paying the debt may be an acknowledgement that you owe it, which will keep it on your CR for 7 more years.
E: A better option might be a Pay For Deletion negotiation.
Hi nayox,
Thanks for the response its been more than seven years since i got this card th status was updated on report on 6/2013 this should have been deleted but somehow its been updated i tried to dispute but no luck so you think a PFD would work? Ill try anything at this point lol
It would be helpful if you could tell us exactly how the debt is listed on the report and the dates associated with it.

Eek, almost 2 more years. If I were to try tackling it, I would definitely read up on the pay for delete method. Hopefully one of the more experienced folks will chime in.
