Mail a GW letter asking for a deletion, and/or call them too.
Do you think i should do both?

I'd call them first. If they say no, then start sending letters and/or emails.
What if i don't know the account number? On the credit report for each tu, ex, etc.. where it says acct number it says a diffrent number.

Sometimes creditors can look up your account via SSN #. How old is this account ?
Do you have any old statements or cards in a desk somewhere that might have the # ?
No not at all; i also moved since then. I haven't done anything with this account since like 2004/2005.
I guess i have e-mail/or mail.. there is no number on the listings on my report. it says contact only by mail only.

If you haven't done anything with this account since 2004/2005 it's possible it may be coming off here on its own shortly. Pull your free reports from annualcreditreport.com and find out the fall off date. You may not need to do anything.
+1
The date you are looking for is not the date of the charge-off. You need to locate the date that it first went delinquent with the OC, and was not brought back into good-standing before they did the charge-off. Add 7 years plus 180 days to that DOFD, and that is the date after which the CO can no longer appear in your CR.
The fact that it was paid for less than the full amount is a negative statement that looks bad on manual review of your CR. However, it is related to the adverse item, so the comment will also be excluded once the CR exclusion date has arrived.
