I'm unsure why, exactly, because I didn't dispute or GW it, but my CitiFinancial account I had dropped of my EQ CR today. It had a DOFD of 4/2010 and was settled, CO on 3/2011. I'm not complaining that it's gone, by any means.
My question is, should the deletion of an old charge off raise my score any? It definitely looks better on my CR anyway... Just curious if I should expect a bump soon.
That new, yes, I would expect an increase. But like everything else it is dependent on what else is on your CR.
Wow! That was quick service! Thanks, as always, Guiness! I'm up from 564 at the start of this last month to 640!
Moving along a steady clip....
Wow, that is very impressive! Keep it up.
I'm working on it! Hopefully, I'll be able to raise up a few more points in the next 3 months... we shall see!
If they deleted the entire account as opposed to just the CO, then if its age was older than your current average age of accounts, it will lower your AAoA.
Additionally, if your only revolving, it will effect mix of credit.
How old was the account? Do you have other revolving accts?
Not sure but I think that would be a personal loan and not a CC.
The entire TL disappeared. I'm not really sure why.
It was an installment loan. I think the ex-wife and I bought some furniture or something. If it does affect the AAoA, it should be minimal. I think I have a total of 30 accounts spanning almost 18 years now.
Wow... So I just checked on my AAoA. I've got a ton of accounts, but they are mostly closed. According to CK, my AAoA is 4 yrs 11 mo, with the newest being 0 months (secured AMEX I opened to help me out). The oldest is 17 yrs 4 mo. I think this was opened in 2006, so that is lkely why my AAoA dropped below 6 years.
