Question about my Equifax credit report

I have a collections account for T-Mobile on my credit reports from 2010. It is listed one time on TU & EX. On my EQ report it is listed 2 times under 2 different collection agencies and both are listed as open... How can this be?

Re: Question about my Equifax credit report

Should only be listed under one CA.  If it was sold to another CA, the first should have removed their posting.

Starting Score: 504
July 2013 score:
EQ FICO 819, TU08 778, EX "806 lender pull 07/26/2013
Goal Score: All Scores 760+, Newest goal 800+
Take the myFICO Fitness Challenge

Current scores after adding $81K in CLs and 2 new cars since July 2013
EQ:809 TU 777 EX 790 Now it's just garden time!

June 2017 update: All scores over 820, just pure gardening now.

Re: Question about my Equifax credit report

Sounds to me as though it was sold off from the OC, then to one CA, then to another CA. The first CA didn't seem to delete their account with the situation. Sounds like a good time for a DV letter to both agencies, in my opinion/.

(started in the mid 500s on all 3, 11/13)
As of 5/22/15 EX: 698, EQ: 700, TU: 703
Barclay Rewards: $2750, Capital One Quicksilver one: $4300, Discover IT : $300, Amazon Visa: $100. Best Buy Credit Card: $3000, Kohl's Charge: $300, Express: $2600, Overstock $1650, Chase Freedom $4700, AMEX Everday $1500, Serta iComfort $4700, Walmart $1600, Target $300

+1.  The account has been sold twice to 2 different CAs.  Find out which one listed most recently and send a DV to them.  I would just dispute the first CA TL through EQ.

Also recommend you PFD the T-Mobile account through the OC.  I had great luck contacting them directly.

Re: Question about my Equifax credit report

I did. They reduced the amount I owed and then accepted a PFD. I'll message you the contact info I used.
