Not sure if this question is for this forum or the student loan forum but here it is.
I'm starting work on a master's degree in January and will need financial aid. How will the student loan be reported? Will it show up as a new line of credit and what impact will that have on my credit score? I'm assuming that it will be reported to the credit bureaus once it is awarded to me or after it is disbursed but I'm mostly concerned about it's effect on my score. I've worked really hard on bringing my score up from 380 and I'm 37 points away from 600. I want and need the degree but I also need good credit.
