I'm prepared to phone a CA and offer a PFD over the phone. This debt was previously validated.
I know I'm not supposed to admit ownership, so what is the best way to word this request to accomplish this?

Any mods willing to weigh in on this ?

Do it in writing. See PFD Example Letter

Phone call :
I pulled my credit report and seen this account showing up, I know you think its mine, I am not saying it is mine , but I am saying I want it off my credit report and you would like paid so If I agree to pay for this are you willing to remove it?
If they say yes.
Ok that sounds great , here is my email adress would you please email me a agreement that says if I pay this amount for this account # you agree to remove it from all 3 of my credit reports.
When I get the email I will call you back and pay.
Get an extension number, that persons name etc so when you call back you will get them if possible. Do not give any credit card info etc with out a email or something in writting first.

I prefer to do things by mail, just for a paper trail. However, I personally and others have too, have had positive outcomes from dealing with creditors on the phone. It can be done, just be careful and don't let them bully you.

Thanks all, for the input. I've already mailed the PFD letters, using the same one from here I've been using since 2008 lol. I know some CA's will fax/email you something too, I just wasn't sure exactly how to word the request over the phone.
Shogun, thanks for the help too. And as far as being bullied, I was the only girl in a house with 5 brothers. No one in the WORLD could ever bully me... lol.
Thanks again. I didn't consider that I could just essentially read my letter verbatim lol. Could start there.
