I have 3 medical bills in collection...before finding this site, I had to pay 50% of one so the doctor would see me...I called the hospital today and asked if I could pay the money to them and if they would take it back from the co, she said yes. How will this look on my credit report when I do pay them? Will the co accounts be gone or just showing paid? Depending on the answer, I will send good will to the hospital when I send payment?
thanks
Sounds like your debt was just assigned, as is common in medical collections. If I'm understanding the situation, they will have the accounts deleted from your credit report, i.e. best case scenario. Make sure you have that answered clearly, and congrats!

I agree with Jutz. Hopefully they will delete.
You need to get all this in writing

As a best case scenario, yes, but it wouldn't stop me from paying it if they refused. Some are hesitant to put the deletion in writing because of their agreement with the CRAs. Luckily I'd assume the OC is much more likely to put it in writing since they don't directly deal with the CRAs and just make a request of the CA they have a relationship with.

I understand, I am like you, if i owe someone i am goign to pay them.........GOOD LUCK and i hope it all works out for you
I had this exact thing happen with me. Most CA's will delete as they do many dealings with the docotr/hospital in question and want further business. Its not like most people know to try and pull back from the CA their collections.
