I'm glad it worked for you, however I question the process suggested to you by the RJM rep that "if I wanted it gone sooner that I could contact each bureau's and in return they would contact RJM to verify and it would be removed immediately.'
The CRAs are not involved in the debt validation process, so I doubt that was what the rep was referencing.
If the rep was suggesting a dispute, a dispute must assert some inaccuracy in reporting. Absent that, a dispute directed to the CRA would not be the proper process.
Notwithstanding what the rep said, I think you handled it through the proper process.
