So I call RJM and ask for a PFD in addition to their 60% settlement offer, and the guy says, "sure, not a problem!" Within minutes I have this in my inbox:
"RJM Acquisitions LLC ("RJM") is pleased to accept the sum of $87.79 in full satisfaction of the above referenced account.
Please pay by March 1, 2013.
When you finish paying, this account will be satisfied in full, and, as per your specific request, RJM will have our reporting of this account deleted with Experian and Trans-Union."
They are truly one of the easiest to deal with! I just settled a PFD with them, and I am just waiting for it to fall off of my credit reports!
Makes one more likely to take care of the debt doesn't it? Congrats on the delete!
I agree..Wish more would be as willing to PFD. I'm waiting on my PFD letter from RJM. I offered 20% on a $863 collection. This account is way past SOL and Will fall off in August 2013.
Thanks guys! And I agree--while I didn't know about PFD before reading about it here, if more collectors would be open to the idea, my debts would be paid off in a heartbeat.
I agree it would be nice if all CA work that easy.
Yeah, I have an old settled TL with MCM on both EX and TU that I'm trying to GW and dispute into oblivion.
