They have some pretty pricey stuff - computers, TVs and cameras.

Use the snowball method to pay them down. Minimum payment on all but the smallest balance, and that one you put every extra dime you can on it, then when its paid, you roll everything to the next lowest balance and so on.

Re: Rebuild Take 2 and.... Action!

@ABCD2199 Thanks!  Needed to hear that!  I started an emergency fund when I got my second job a couple of months ago.  I have about $900 in it and decided it's about time to now target my debt and stop all spending and cut as much cost as I can so I cut my cable and some small stuff.  I'm trying but I know I need accountability or I'll go right back to where I started.

Don't be too "ugh" about it, we've all been there or we wouldn't be here.

You're probably paying about $200 a month in interest (I'm guessing) or about $2,400 a year.  Once you pay those balances to $0, that's $2,400 more per year you can spend on things you want (luxuries) or put towards an emergency fund!

Re: Rebuild Take 2 and.... Action!

$900 is awesome!  Set a personal daily goal to transfer little amounts when you make the firm decision not to spend on something unnecessary.  If you're a Starbucks fiend, transfer $3 into savings every time you tell yourself no!

Little additions to savings have a HUGE effect.  I recently posted on Facebook that if you can just save $3 per day, every day, at 1.1% interest, in 10 years you'll have $12,000 in that account.
