How does one go about rebuilding or obtaining new credit with serious deliquencies on their credit report? Should one payoff the defaulted credit card accounts even if the statute of limitations has run out? Or do I just wait for 7 years for them to drop off my credit report before I try obtaining new credit? I only have 2-3 credit cards still with limits all under $1000 that are all paid off every month.
