Removal as AU on Discover Account

I need to be removed as an AU on a Discover account that is reporting. The account was settled and closed.

What is the best way to go about this? Should I contact Discover directly and ask them to remove me or should I dispute this with the CRA's?

Thanks

You can contact Discover and have them remove you.  Or you can file a dispute with the CRAs as not mine.  It would have to be removed.

Re: Removal as AU on Discover Account

Thanks for the feedback.

Also, this account was opened in 2008. It was 120+ days late as of Nov 09 and was charged off. It was settled and paid off in 2011 for less than the full balance. If/when this is removed, I wonder how much impact it will have on my score?

I removed myself as an AU on a maxed out gas card.  I received +17, no lates.

A CO is a major negative.  However, point wise, it will depend on what else is on your CR.

It is also several years old.  But, I would expect to see a score bump.  Just can't speculate on how much.
