I'm 23 yrs.
In the time frame of a year I hit rock bottom. Now I'm climbing back up that mountain.
2011:
I quit a job then lost the other. Found another job but wasn't payed for 2 month!! frustrated
Car was repo'd and had to settle on a handful of collections(4+) So i obviously took a hit.
To get back on track I applied for a Secured NFCU Nrewards.
Fast forward 2012 lots of patience and now a mail in offer for CapOne unsecured Platinum Visa No Annual fee!
I app'd and now have a $500 CL, recieved it and noticed that there is a "Step Up" program which states, "Use the card and pay on it for 5 mths and on your 7th statement you'll automatically recieve a CL increase", it's nice to know that I've done something right.
In summary, patience and diligence pays off no matter how long that road may seem someone notices.
congrats on your journey, at least you're getting it together while you are still young, I hid my head in the sand for the longest time. Now in my 40's am I finally getting it cleaned up and my FICO's moving in the right direction.
