Response Timeline?

When giving a collection agency, bank or whatever it may be 30 days to respond, is it 30 days straight or 30 business days?  Thanks.

Typically calendar days and also add 5 days for mailing of results

Response to what type of communication?

If a request for debt validation, there is no time period under the FDCPA, and DV requests are only sent to debt collectors.

If a dispute sent to a CRA, the CRA has 30 calendar days from the date of the dispute to complete their reinvestigation, and an additional 5 business days thereafter to mail thier formal Notice of Results of Reinvestigation.

If a direct dispute of the accurcy of information reported to your credit file, then the furnisher has 30 calendar days to complete their investigatin, and then has 5 additional business days thereafter to put their decision in the mail.
