Re: Result of reducing util from 42% to 0%

Couldn't help myself, had to see how TransUnion looked. The 42% -> 0% util brought the score up from 668 to 676, an +8 point increase.

Current scores now are:

Equifax 674 (FICO)

TransUnion 676 (FICO)

Experian 667 (FAKO)

Re: Result of reducing util from 42% to 0%

Something interesting I noticed comparing the two TransUnion reports (one with 42% util and the other with 0%). On the 42% report, one of the things listed as hurting my score is "High Credit Usage" but on the 0% one, one of the things hurting my score is "No Credit Usage".

There are no recent balances on your revolving credit accounts.

Your credit report shows no recent balances on your revolving accounts [?]. Your FICO score was hurt because you are not currently demonstrating active revolving credit management.

Will definitely keep a small balance next month which apparenlty will help.

I feel ya Mike.  It's like when I'm told that one of my positives that I have goiing for me is "not seeking new credit" but then on the bad side it says " too few accounts".  Again, go figure?
