Re: RetroActive CREDIT REBUILD PROJECT LOG

I'm not Navy, but while I was last deployed my wife joined Navy and we are hooked.  I'm now a member and I've never been more pleased with a banking institution. You'll be veryhappy with them. Only negative thing I can about them is they pull your credit for everything.  Account openings, separate inquiries for credit products, including credit line increases.  But what you get from them makes it worthwhile.  You'll be very happy with NFCU.

I think if they are a  member of NFCU they can sponsor you.  I got $25 for joining and he got $25 :smileyhappy:

I agree with the USAA monitoring. I am a son of a retired Masterchief and I love USAA and I just opened up a secured AMEX with them also.

CMI DV Success

[ Edited ]

05/05/2012 - DV Success! - I received a letter from CMI on Saturday in response to my DV request stating a decision to "discontinue collection efforts."

The letter stated:

"Dear XXXX,

Our office has reviewed the above-referenced account and we have made the decision to discontinue our collection efforts.

Rest assured that any information regarding this account that was reported to the credit bureaus by this agency will be corrected."

The letter was obviously worded to the advantage of the CA in that it did not acknowledged that it was in response to my request, it did not make a statement regarding the validity of the debt and it did not state that the reporting would be deleted, just corrected. All the same, I am expecting a deletion.

Re: CMI DV Success

05/10/2012 - Partial GW Success! - I received a call in response to a GW email to Cap1 and the CSR was able to remove one of the tradlines but not the other. The only balance on one of them was the annual fee which is why they stated that they were able to remove the tradeline.

05/14/2012 -  I received another BOA GW deny form letter.

05/14/2012 - GW Success! - I received a letter from Target stating that they have removed the tradeline from all of my reports.

05/22/2012 - DV Success? - I pulled my reports and found that my last remaining CA has been removed from all 3 reports. I have not received a response letter of any sort to my DV though so it may pop back up.

05/22/2012 - I called and had myself removed as an AU from a Wal-Mart card that has been at 90% for the past 8 years. I'm hoping that the reduction in utilization outweighs the loss of average account age.

Re: Credit Update – 05/22/2012

[ Edited ]

I am down to 3 baddies that look like they will be hanging around for a while.

1. BoA Auto - I have had 3 BoA GW denials so far to clear a 30 day that occurred in 11/2008. Two through form letters and one through a phone call with a rep from the CEO's office. The loan will be paid off in full next month so I may have better luck after that but I don't want to risk having the TL deleted and losing my auto history.
Game plan - I will just keep sending GW requests and maybe I'll get lucky one day.

2. Chase CC - I have sent two emails so far in regards to this account to the same address that I had success with my other account. So far I have not had a reply at all. The card still has a 2k balance that I am working on paying down and I expect that I will have better luck having this removed once I no longer owe them money.
Game plan - I will work on paying the account down and will mail GW requests in the meantime.

3. Capital 1 CC - I have been denied a GW request on this account but I have sent a fax asking for statements for the two months in question because I am fairly certain that these were the result of a fraud issue which ended in my closing the account all together.
Game plan - I am waiting on a response to the statement request and will go from there, worst case, the reporting drops off in Jan of 2013.

So far my Fico score does not seem to have changed much but I am hoping I see a difference soon. I feel like I've made a lot of progress but I'm not seeing in in my Fico score yet. I'm hoping to qualify for an auto lease in the next few months as we have a baby on the way! :smileyhappy:
