If it has been removed by the reporting party, it should no longer appear on your CR, anywhere.

So if you never take care of certain things that fall off your credit report they will follow you forever? Is it better to file bankruptcy? I won't be able to take care of things I had 10 years ago that I didn't pay. I had a repo and owe a lot on that. I have no intentions of purchasing a house that will cost $150k. Our current one is only $80k but you never really know what will happen in the future. I plan on staying in the house we have now until we retire but again you never know what might happen. It is possible I could make $75k in the next 5-7 years though. Now I am more worried than I was. Maybe I shouldn't have brought this up. HA HA HA
I wouldn't personally file bankruptcy, but I don't understand the WHOLE situation. I think you'll be ok, though. Besides, you may be able to settle for less and GW or get a deletion for less than what is owed, depending on how old the debt is. There is also a possibility that you don't actually owe that much, it may be reported incorrectly. There are so many factors included in debt-repayment, that there would probably be a few options for you.
Also, if you are outside the SOL on debts you have more leverage then to settle for less, and have the statute as a defense if they attempt to take legal action.
These are things I know, and I don't know everything, but I hope this helps you feel better!

Thank you it does make me feel a lot better! My husband was pressuring me into filing bankruptcy until I showed him I really don't owe that much (on my credit report) and I can clean it up. I will still have some things I can't get rid of but I think it will be better than bankruptcy in the long run. He filed bankruptcy about ten years ago and it was great for him. He got a house and a great car loan after that so he thinks I should do it. I can do the same thing without filing bankruptcy. The majority of my debt is not on my credit report. It is from a repo and credit card from years ago. It is about ten years old. Once I have taken care of everything on my credit report maybe I will work on that. How do I get a report that shows everything I owe that is not on my credit report? I don't even know how to go about getting that information.
Bankruptcy may make all the baddies go away you had, but it's a baddie in itself. It doesn't solve everything. There are many lenders (credit cards especially) that won't accept any application if you've had a BK in the last 3 years. Do you know how much all your debt is? You need to remind your husband that the same solution will not have the same effect for everyone.
I would work on what is currently reporting, first, to help you build positive tradelines and improve your recent history in the eyes of lenders. As for a complete report like that, I don't know if there is one. if you know who you owe the debt to, when you are READY, you could request an itemized and current bill for that debt. I'm not sure how to go about that, though. I'd research it, perhaps.
As for the repo, you may be able to settle that for a lot less, and same with the CC, since they are ten years old. What state do you live in? Unless it's Kentucky (Written contracts have a 15 year SOL), you may be able to settle for literally pennies on the dollar.
That is what I would suggest, but I am no legal advisor. You may get different advice from someone with more knowledge.

Thank you I really appreciate you taking the time to give me your advice. I live in Washington state so I'm OK with that.
In a couple of years when I have everything showing on my credit report paid off I will start working on the rest. Thank you again for your time and advice!
ME TOO! Haha, maybe we can swap state law info at a "slumber party". LOL. Written contracts are 6 years, oral is 3, and medical debt has a specific 3 year SOL for WA staters.
And you're welcome. Just trying to help, even if that's just easing the stress a bit.

The stipulation where they can pull a full report is only a remote possibility, it doesn't happen very often, but we don't want our posters to know it CAN happen. My mortgage was for more thatn 150k, and only pulled the normal CR, just like most would. So it's not something I'd worry too much about it, if they do and give you grief, get another lender.

Ha ha! That would be fun!
