SOL Question

I thought I knew a bunch about credit, but I'm learning a lot more stuff here-thanks everyone!  Late payments--do you they have a SOL or are they showing forever?  I'm wondering because I have some from 2008 and I was going to do a Goodwill Letter but I'm wondering if I should just wait for them to disappear.

Late payments on accounts report for 7 years then become excluded. For lates in 2008 they would drop sometime in 2015, you can do GW letters if these accounts are still open and in good standing; if its a negative closed account that hasnt been updating monthly I would just leave it alone.
