I had an old Comcast bill which ended up being over 2200 because I didn't return equipment that was turned over to a law firm. Well I called them just this week to see about setting up a payment arrangement and these people tell me they don't have the account. I said well you are reporting on my credit report that you do and I owe. She told me to dispute it and they'll delete it. I did just that and within 4 days I got the notification from Equifax that it was deleted... My score raised 7 points. I know it's not much but it's definately a start!! I'm so excited that I don't have to pay 2200 either

No I still have it but I called Comcast the same day I called the law firm and they said I only owed 600 something. So I'm going to start paying them before they send it to another collection agency. I'm already on it! I plan on paying something on the account on Friday! 600 is better than 2200. For some reason they can't see that I didn't return the equipment but I still have it in storage if they ever ask me about it.
