Sample Debt validation letter

I am looking for a sample debt validation letter I can use and wondering if there are any that folks have had success with. I know Google is my friend but I see some samples with a lot of verbiage and some thin and sweet and want to make sure I approach this the right way. Thanks in advanced.

This is what I've sent. No response yet (too early, I suspect).

"I recently examined my credit report and discovered you are reporting I owe this alleged debt, account number _______________.  Please validate per Federal Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) 809.  Also please include the name, address, and phone number of the original creditor and an itemization of the debt."

I send all my DVs certified mail, return receipt.  (Not GWs though.)
