Why does a dispute drop your score? My score dropped over 60+ recently due to disputes even getting two collections removed. These are scheduled to be completed on 11/11/2011. Hopefully I'll see my original score return and then some at that time.
It depends on what is being disputed. Part of the TL won't factor into your score like the balance, CLs, lates for OCs. Other parts of the TL like the mix of credit, the history, your AAoA, and your scoring bucket won't be impacted during a dispute. Other baddies like CAs and PRs aren't impacted during a dispute, other than the update to the DOLA and reported date which could impact your score in a negative way.

Well I just sent off a fax to Equifax requesting that they remove the disputes from the 14 accounts... so frustrating, but we'll see what happens and I'll update here.
Does anyone else have a good fax # for Equifax? The one I keep trying isn't working... I keep getting an error that says "bad connection/memory full." I thought that it might be because I was sending it on a Friday afternoon, but I'm getting the same error today (Monday) as well.
