Score Recovery Timeline

Hi everyone,

My score dropped recently from 770 to 670 due to a $300 collection item which showed up on my report. Otherwise, I have nothing else except credit cards only 2 of which I use and 5-10% utilization most of the time.

How long will it take for me to pull my scores back up to the 750s?

Thank you

AK

Re: Score Recovery Timeline

That collection will need to be removed in order to get you back up there.  It will take a couple months after you get it removed.

Try a Pay for Delete letter and get it removed.   You will bounce back quickly.

Re: Score Recovery Timeline

Thanks, I am working on it, I wasnt sure what else I could do if that doesnt work. There is nothing else to improve on my credit report except maybe to push the utilization to 0.

Re: Score Recovery Timeline

Dropping to a 0 UTIL will actually hurt you. If anything...drop it anywhere between 1% and 9%

Starting Score: (FICO)(August 29, 2013) 502(EQ) 568(EX) 549(TU)
Current Score: (FICO) (January 28, 2017) 712(EQ) 720(EX) 720(TU)
Goal Score: 720(EQ) 720(EX) 720(TU)

Amex Business Platinum NPSL | Chase Sapphire Preferred $15,000 | Chase Freedom $9000 | Amex ED $1,000 | BofACash Rewards $3100 | Amazon Store Card $4000

+1 this is what you should do and will help you the fastest

Good luck

Before you app think...
Have you done your research of the CC?
Does it fit your spending?
Do you have a plan for the bonus w/o going into debt?
Can you afford the AF?
Do you know the cards benefits? Is it worth the HP?
