Secured card vs Unsecured card

I can get both - What would you guys recommend?

I am going to get a joint account with my fiance so that we may help build my credit - But then i am also going to try and get one on my own.

What do you guys think? Should i even worry about a secured card .... how would it affect my credit compared to an unsecured card?

Sorry i am just not that sure of how CA's rank this stuff x.x

My credit journey has completed. I am currently sitting at 800+ across the board.

I started my journey here years ago, and thanks to MyFico, it really is possible.

Re: Secured card vs Unsecured card

I have a secured that reports as a secured card.  Helped  my score tremendously by just reporting as a any type of card and when I applied for a mortgage the lender never asked about it.  Check into secured products at well established banks before you settle for a high APR card.
