So I received a letter from First Premier letting me know that I have the option to open a new account with them and have the old balance (pre-fees) be added to the new credit limit. Has anyone heard of this?? I have actually been considering it as they are 1 of 4 baddies left on my report, and the worst one at that. My charge off amount from 9/2010 was $300.
What do you guys think?
According to the offer they have listed there, it will still be a baddie. The account will be marked settled and will remain on your CR. I would offer a PFD for the account instead.
Plus the fact they will have a new account on there with your old debt tactked on to it and reset the DOFD.

I'd have to agree. I wouldn't do it. Also, your utilization will go up since you'd be maxed out instantly.
