Hi all,
I settled an old Capital One charge off back in 8/11 (so that I could buy a home). According to my fico report, DOLA is Jan 2006.
Is there anything I should be proactively doing to get this TL off my report, or will it automatically disappear in January?
Any info or advice is appreciated!

Send a good will letter now state that it is paid and ask to remove from your report

If the DOLA is in Jan. 06 then the DOFD could actually be before that. Remember it's 7 years + 180 days from the DOFD. So there could be an extra 6 months on the end.

I just pulled my free credit reports and noticed that on the two that list it, the estimated date of removal is Nov 2012. Great surprise! Hopefully, this happens at the beginning of the month.

Does anyone have any guesses as to a score jump? This is one of 2 negative tradelines. My other is 2 30-day lates on a car payment in 2007 (which honda refuses to delete).
I'm currently at 700 and am wondering if this will be enough to get to 720
Hi all, just a follow up. I pulled my scores today and I am at 740 TU and 738 EQ.
Trade line is finally gone! I got anxious and checked on 11/29 and it was still there, so they hung on until the very end. Worth the wait though! So glad to finally have that behind me!
